It was so good to have a bit of a day off today. The last six days have been rather too hectic. After a leisurely breakfast, we wandered into Laroque to collect our bread for lunch. We are enjoying the French bread – it is so much nicer than Italian bread as the crust is thinner and the inside softer. The roof of our mouths suffers though, as it always gets ripped up by the super-crunchy crusts.
We did manage a run before lunch. We got a little lost though and ended up at the back of the neighbouring town of Sorede, and it was near an hour before we got back home. A pretty hot day, probably mid-20s or even a bit more. The pool was really inviting and we had a swim before lunch. After lunch we caught up on a lot of congratulatory emails, did two monster loads of washing, started a list of things we would need to buy for the new house, and tried to formulate plans for the next week. We did have a thought that we have 5 weeks of home exchanges ahead of us, and if we could get possession reasonably soon we could drop the exchanges and actually make a start. The thought of that was pretty exciting!
