| Emigrant village of Puolo |
We hadn’t realised how close together the 6 emigrant villages here were. We sorted a plan to get around them all, plugged them into the GPS in order and set off. Roads were fine, though the GPS insists on taking some tiny narrow shortcuts better suited to scooters. What we had expected to be abandoned villages of a few tired buildings turned out to be thriving tourist towns, full of restaurants, B&Bs and bars. Further towards the end of the peninsula the commercial places faded away to be replaced by large holiday houses owned by the wealthy, judging by the number of German cars parked under the lemons.

| Sorrento |
The GPS got its knickers in a twist finding the last place, so we ended up almost in Sorrento. That’s not as bad as it sounds as each place was only a kilometre or three apart. There was a museum we wanted to see there, so we headed in. Yet again foiled by the public holiday as it was closed, and there were street closures for the public holiday and one way streets that the GPS didn’t know about. So back to the last little place on our list, where we had fun exploring and finding a little church up the hill. As we were about to go, it started to rain. That’s already the third time in 6 weeks, we’re beginning to get sick of it!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day, though it was nothing like we expected. Only Stromboli left on the initial book part of the trip, then we are onto the house part. Had a good Skype with Alastair, who’s had a good break over Easter. An excellent meal in the evening, with a complimentary limoncello to finish.
